THIS READING
At these Zoom meetings, we take turns reading ALOUD!
If you are new to this group, please join the Zoom 15 minutes early, i.e. at 6:45 PM, for mutual introductions. Failure to do this, will very likely mean that, if we don't know you, you won't be admitted from the Zoom waiting room. We have had trouble with Zoom Bombers in the past, and would rather not repeat that experience ...
***Today*** (5/6/24) we will have our first (as far as I -- Tom -- know) Movie Night. We will screen-share the 1958 film version of Eugne O'Neill's 1924 play DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS. For reference: the text of the play is available at Project Gutenberg: https://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks04/0400081h.html
CURRENT SHAKESPEARE-NIGHT SCHEDULE
On the first and third Mondays of each month, Tom Frenkel will host.
On the second and fourth Mondays of each month -- hosted by Peter -- we will be reading ... ??? (We recently completed a book of selections from The Tale of Genji)
On the fifth Monday of a month (if there is one), we (SOMETIMES) hold an "open mic", where participants are encouraged to sing a song, tell a joke, read a poem, or whatever.
GENERAL INFORMATION
If you RSVP "Yes" to a Meetup, the Zoom link will be visible on the meetup.com event page.
We often have an informal discussion following the reading.
FUTURE READINGS
1st and 3rd Mondays:
• TBD
2nd and 4th Mondays:
• TBD
5th Mondays:
• July 29, 2024: Open Mic night
(Suggested experiment: ask any AI chatbot you can find, "What is the next month that has 5 Mondays?". See if any of them can come thru correctly, for this question that does not seem to involve rocket science)
