What we’re about
In today's go-go-go, everybody's behind, got to get more done world, it seems like our work week keeps us stressed to the max. That makes our weekends even more important, as a way to get out and get away from all the stresses of our jobs. But sometimes we're just too busy to find different things to do or meet new people. One group of Tennesseans has found a way around that time crunch. They meet up through the internet...first on a web page, then live and in person...and always with a common goal of outdoor adventure. Get to know Nashville Hiking Meetup.
In addition to our regular hikes and other outdoor adventures, we also plan social events and organize community volunteer projects such as park cleanup and trail building!
Get exercise,
. Make new friends,
. . Respect the environment,
. . . Give back to the community,
. . . . Laugh a lot
What more could you want? :-)

This leisurely one-mile hike on the deeply wooded Inland Trail is a great way to learn about the flora and fauna of Long Hunter State Park. Spring has arrived, so there should be plenty to see!
Ranger Jason, seasonal interpreter at Long Hunter, will be our guide on this trail which features sinkholes, songbirds, Sassafras and Pawpaw trees, unique plants such as trillium and mayapple and jack-in-the-pulpit, and perhaps a greater variety of hickory trees than anywhere else in the park.
Please keep in mind that this will not be a fast-paced hike. We will be stopping often to examine and discuss the natural features found along the trail. No pets, please.
Let's go exploring!
Directions to Inland Trail:
Enter Long Hunter State Park at the main park entrance (2910 Hobson Pike) and then take the third right (Upper Bluffs Area) and proceed to the parking lot. The trailhead is beside the parking lot.
