What we’re about
We invite you to join our community of secular humanists and other people who love life and reason. Here, you can exchange ideas and experiences, make new friends and contribute to positive change. We also have a vibrant community of families where parents can find support in raising children well without religion.
CFI Portland is an educational nonprofit organization whose mission it is to foster a secular society based on science, reason, free inquiry, and humanist values. We seek to present affirmative, rational ethical alternatives to the reigning paranormal and religious systems of belief. We promote critical thinking and humanist values through education, outreach and social services.
Check out our regular social and educational programs and our sponsored groups, the CFI Secular Family Network, where secular families can find community and humanistic education, the CFI Beaverton Atheist Meetup on the west side of town, the CFI Secular Humanists of East Portland on the east side of town, the CFI Vancouver Skeptics just north of Portland, all of which provide a casual atmosphere where non-believers can enjoy each other's company. We have additional satellite groups outside of Portland in Eugene, Salem, Coos Bay, and Grants Pass. We even sponsor Secular Walk and Talk for those who'd like to get in some exercise and/or coffee with like-minded folks in your area.
Support our group by becoming a CFI member and CFI Portland donor.

Who said we have to wait for the weekend for a good time? Meet the fun heretics this Wednesday at 5 o'clock for lively conversation and good beer at this new, hip, northwest brewpub.
With 35 taps and an industrial vibe, this is where we'll meet on the second Wednesday of the month for the foreseeable future. And although there's no kitchen, outside food is welcome.
Although we start at 5, people come and go as they please. So come early, come late, but come! The fun starts when YOU get here
