See all- Agile Austin Book Club: Clean Agile: Back to Basics — session 1Link visible for attendees
We're reading Clean Agile: Back to Basics by Robert C. ("Uncle Bob") Martin. We'll discuss through Chapter 3 on May 2nd, and plan to conclude our discussion May 16th. But we're agile—if we need more time we'll take it!
(The Zoom link is visible at right after you register. The link to the Miro discussion board will be emailed to registrants shortly before the meeting, and probably posted in the Zoom chat by somebody.)
Do you have a book to recommend? Please submit this form, so our program committee can consider it.
if you'd like to be on the program (book selection) committee, please contact david.white@agileaustin.org

Remote Process
Our process is in flux -- we're experimenting with new moderation and recording techniques, so please be on time and please be patient. And expect a call for participation -- we want this to be your book club.
Discussion Notes
for this and all our books may be found here (this recently changed). Notes are open to comment by anyone (please do!) and you'll also find how to get REIMBURSEMENT for books and the READING LIST for possible future books. (Discussion notes may or may not be taken in future -- we're experimenting to see what's valuable.)
About Book Club
We meet most months the 1st and 3rd Thursdays, so you can put that in your calendar. When and if we resume physical meetings we'll feed you, and if you participate in most of the sessions, we'll even reimburse you for the book, so save that receipt.
We have not recorded Book Club sessions in the past, but that could change:

Title:
"When Agile Is Not Enough: Why It Is Important to Diversify Your Experience and Your Credentials"Topic Description:
LinkedIn is full of news of workforce reductions and layoffs, and it is common to see people's profile photo with the green "open to work" ring surrounding their image. Large blue-chip companies have eradicated agile from their ranks, and practitioners everywhere wonder what to do next. This session of the Agile Leaders SIG will be part talk, part discussion, part asking and answering questions. Erin will walk you through certain decisions, why she opted for and against certain credentials, and how she selects clients and teams for a wide base of skills and experience. Erin launched her coaching and consulting practice, Ad Meliora Coaching, at the dawn of the Covid-19 pandemic (February 2020, to be exact), an interesting time to start a business. She maintains that it was the best decision she ever made.
Speaker Bio:
Erin Randall is a veteran organizational, agile, and coactive coach who holds a veritable alphabet soup of credentials. She listens for what is emerging in people and systems, helping to make change bearable, sustainable, and even enjoyable. But mostly, she is all about happy people doing great work. You can find her at Ad Meliora Coaching. - Agile Austin Book Club: Clean Agile: Back to Basics — session 2Link visible for attendees
