2024-25 Season Send Off "Bumpapalooza" Trip: Killington

Details
The 24/25 season doesn't end until we say so and we will continue to ski and ride until we can't anymore! We will be headed up to Killington one final time this season the weekend of May 16th for some bathing suit laps, bumps, and fun in the sun! We will ski Saturday for a few hours in the morning and then have a tailgate BBQ out in the K1 parking lot followed by a few more afternoon laps if our legs can handle it. Sunday will be an optional group hike before driving home.
Late-season skiing at Killington (late April-May) on Superstar is no joke, as the bumps have become huge (3-4 ft deep), wet, and heavy granular/slush. That being said, late-season operations will be different this year (due to construction of the new Superstar Express being built) and late-season operations will be up on the Canyon (Double Black) and North Ridge (Blue) trails. This trip is not advised for beginners so please evaluate yourself accordingly before signing up. See the links below for further details on operating schedules and the specific trails that are expected to be open:

Killington Details Plans for Spring 2025
Agenda:
Friday (5/16): Drive up to Airbnb. Check-in after 3pm. Dinner on your own.
Saturday (5/17): Ski Killington in the morning. Tailgate BBQ in K1 parking lot from approximately 11-1ish. Some people will continue to ski in the afternoon or just hang out at the tailgate. (Lift hours are 8-5 this time of year). Group dinner will be decided closer to the event, such as whether we will go out or do dinner at the house. Most restaurants and bars on the Killington access road will have closed for the season by this point and we may be limited to going to Rutland for dinner if we go out. Unfortunately, Pickle Barrel is one of the places that closes by mid-April :(
Sunday (5/18): Group hike in the Killington/Mendon/Rutland area prior to driving home. Specific details will be provided closer to the trip weekend.
House Details: We will be staying at this gorgeous 6-bedroom, 4-bath log home near the base of the Killington access road. Check-in will be on Friday, May 16th anytime after 3 pm. With a game room, hot tub, and a large outdoor patio with a grill, this house looks to be a great end-of-season retreat!

If you don’t have an IKON Pass, or have run out of either your 5 or 7 day allotment for Killington, day tickets can be purchased online through the Killington website. I personally also still have a bunch of Ikon Buddy passes I can share with you if needed! I am not sure if window tickets will be offered at this point in the season so it is best to secure your ticket ahead of time online. Current rates for that weekend appear to be $75 but may change as we get closer.
