Oaxaca, a city rich in tradition and vibrant with color, sets the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable journey with Women Travel Abroad and our Wellness team in August 2025. Discover the heart of Oaxaca through its people and their crafts as you meet talented female artisans and chefs, each sharing their stories and cultural heritage. Begin your journey at the breathtaking Santo Domingo Temple and explore the lush Jardín Etnobotánico, where Oaxaca’s unique biodiversity and history come to life. From creating your own piece of barro negro pottery to connecting with local female artisans on a market tour, every experience will immerse you in the unique sights, sounds, and colors of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Each day will be a blend of exploration and rejuvenation, with dedicated wellness practices designed to nourish the mind and body. Begin your mornings with yoga, guided meditation, and journaling sessions to set the tone for the day. Highlights will include an ancestral cooking class led by a local chef, where you’ll learn to prepare iconic Oaxacan dishes like mole, and a tasting of Mezcal, which is brewed only in this region of Mexico. The journey culminates with a visit to Monte Albán, an awe-inspiring Zapotec archaeological site. Return home with a sense of inner peace, cherished memories, and a deep connection to Oaxaca’s inspiring culture.

𝗗𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗬 𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗬
𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭 – 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟭 – Begin your journey as you arrive at Oaxaca International Airport (OAX), where private transportation awaits to bring you to your boutique accommodations in the heart of Oaxaca City. Settle in and get to know your fellow travelers over a delightful welcome dinner, where you’ll enjoy local flavors and set the tone for the adventure ahead.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮 – 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟮 – Start your day with a morning wellness session and a leisurely breakfast. Then embark on a walking tour of Oaxaca including a visit to Santo Domingo Temple and the breathtaking Jardín Etnobotánico, where Oaxaca’s diverse plant life and history intertwine. In the evening, explore Oaxaca’s vibrant local markets, discovering the rich colors and textures of the city before joining your group for dinner.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟯 – 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟯 – Today is dedicated to Oaxaca’s talented female artisans. Visit nearby villages renowned for their crafts, where you’ll meet women artisans who are preserving Oaxaca’s rich cultural heritage through pottery, textiles, and alebrijes (handcrafted animal figurines). Participate in a hands-on barro negro (black clay) pottery workshop, learning ancient techniques and creating your own unique piece to take home. In the evening, enjoy some time at leisure and dinner with the group.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟰 – 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟰 Begin the day with a refreshing wellness practice, followed by a guided visit to Monte Albán, a significant Zapotec archaeological site perched high on a mountaintop. Here, you’ll explore ancient ruins, learn about Zapotec history, and participate in a grounding healing ceremony. FREE AFTERNOON – spend the rest of today at your leisure. You could book a spa appointment, explore art galleries, or just rest at the hotel. We will meet back together for dinner tonight.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟱 – 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟱 – Today, dive into the heart of Oaxaca’s culinary heritage with an ancestral cooking class led by a local female chef. Discover the secrets of traditional Oaxacan dishes like mole and tamales, using fresh, organic ingredients. This immersive cooking experience will not only teach you how to make these iconic dishes but also share the stories and history behind them. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate your journey, newfound friendships, and the memories made in Oaxaca.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟲 – 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟲– Enjoy an optional final wellness session and some last moments to soak in Oaxaca’s beauty. A private transfer will bring you back to Oaxaca International Airport (OAX) for your return flight home. *Please note that this is a tentative itinerary and it is subject to change.
