What we’re about
We are an active, friendly group with walks in Surrey and surrounding areas.
Walks – We have 3 or 4 walks each week of varying lengths and speed. Please arrive a few minutes early to get your boots on and register.
Social events - After walks we sometimes visit pubs or cafes and we get together for pub meals, picnics and other events.
Walking holidays - We normally do 2 walking holidays a year – one in the UK and one abroad.
Contributing to the Community - We help to maintain the footpaths in our area.
To join us click the link on the Woking Ramblers website and choose Woking when you are asked to select a group. You are welcome to try a couple of our walks before you decide to join. Please come along to the start point and introduce yourself. There is no need to book.

- Fetcham Downs, Norbury Park and Ranmore Common (12.9km / 8.0mi)Ranmore West NT Carpark, Dorking
This walk might appeal to those who want to explore the area East of Polesden Lacey to Westhumble, and from Fetcham Downs to Ranmore Common on a latitudinal plane. Starting from the National Trust Denbies Hillside Car Park (also known as the NT Ranmore Road {East} Car Park) we skew Polesden Lacey on the right and head North towards Fetcham Downs before veering South and returning to the car park via Norbury Park, Westhumble and Ashcombe Wood.
In terms of difficulty this walk is described as moderate with two sections of the route quite steep and prolonged. The first is the hill-climb from the valley below Ranmore Common to Norbury Park and the second is the upslope through Ashcombe Wood from Westhumble. The duration of each sectional climb is around 20 mins.
This is an 8 mile walk so participants may want to bring some lunch as there is no plan to stop at Polesden Lacey.
