Thanks to everyone who showed up at Vinology for the April meetup. The patio and maybe the first really nice evening weather of the year, good wine and some good conversations. What a relaxing evening ... And Ricardo's Akita was too cool.
This month I'm crossing the river over to Kentucky.
Cork N Crust (710 Fairfield Ave. Bellevue 41073)
An Award winning Pizzeria and Wine Bar located very conveniently across the river, a mile or so down from Newport's Riverfront Row. The Cork N Crust has indoor seating, a bar area, and back patio dining.
They feature about 5 different wine flights under 15 dollars, for people who like to do tastings.
They offer a unique selection of wines from all over the world available by the glass or bottle, including 16 wines on tap.
Their handmade gourmet pizzas are award winning and their menu also features charcuterie boards, flatbreads, specialty salads, and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Kentucky can be scary for some people, but this is just across the 471 bridge, get off at the first exit. Turn right, drive a little over a mile, east on Route 8, and enter Bellevue's downtown. The Restaurant is down a few blocks on the right, and there is street parking without much difficulty.
