-Language Exchange
International events can't lack language exchange events but as we want to make them quality events, our language exchange events are immensely focused on learning. We'll use worksheets as a guide of conversations so participants can learn vocabularies, grammar, phrases etc in each language exchange event.
-Picnic (summer only)
It's hard to make friends in language exchange meets held in cafes...In picnics, I believe we can have an open mind because picnics are held in open spaces !
-Sports
Sports is an universal language that transcends English that is thought to be a lingua franca ! Having played sports together for 1 hour, we are already friends ! We mostly host basketball events (outdoor)

言語交換会も行なっております。他のlanguage Exchange との大きな違いは、ワークシートを使って毎回何かしら学べるようにしていることです！日本語を学べるワークシートもありますよ
-Sports
スポーツは英語を超える共通言語という考えのもと、スポーツイベントを主催しています。外でのバスケが中心です。

WASABI’s book club events are kicking off !
In this busy modern life, people could easily procrastinate on reading books…like I do ! So why not make an excuse to start reading books by having a get-together.
Grab your book and have a get-together. Share your book with others and meet new people and books, while getting intellectually spiced up !

→100% yes !4. Do I have to share my books ?
It is recommended but it is not compulsory if you feel uncomfortable. It is said output right after input helps your learning, so it is an opportunity to do this though…!5.Can I join the event without bringing books ?
Partially yes. The hosts can bring some books, but these books tend to be written in Japanese…Let's all get together, have some learning and enjoy the rainy season ! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

そんなレインクーバーだったら、きっと楽しい！
それに、本を持っているけど読むのが後回しになっていたりしませんか？何かと忙しいこの現代社会...イベントとして読書をすれば、読みたかったけど読めなかった本が読めるはず。
そんなわけで、読書クラブイベントを始めてみることにしました！
本を持参して読んでみましょう。みんなで黙々と読書する時間の後、本をシェアする時間を取ってみました。人生を変えるかもしれない１冊に出会えたのなら、留学・ワーホリの１つの大きな成果だと思っています。

→何語の本でも大丈夫です！2. 漫画でも良いでしょうか？
→もちろんです！漫画だって立派な本です！3.電子書籍やパソコンで読んでも大丈夫ですか？
→大丈夫です！4.本は必ずシェアしなければなりませんか？
おすすめですが、シェアしなくても大丈夫です。決して強制ではないのでご安心くださいね。学んだ内容をその場でアウトプットすると定着すると言われているので、アウトプットの機会ではあります。5.手ぶらで参加してもよいでしょうか？
主催者がランダムで日本語の本を数冊持っていくので、何を読んだらわからない方でも参加可能です。運に任せてみるのも良いかも知れない...!?それでは、当日皆様にお会いできるのを楽しみにしております！

Starting a new language can be scary — but you don’t have to do it alone✨.
This WASABI BASIC event is made exactly for people who are just starting out.
You don’t need to know any grammar, words, or characters yet.
If you’ve ever thought:
・I only know arigatou…
・I can’t read Japanese letters…
・I want to speak but don’t know how…then you’ll feel right at home here.
At WASABI BASIC, you’ll receive a simple worksheet that helps you:
-learn new words and basic phrases
-recognize and practice Japanese characters

WASABI is hosting an extra Japanese-English language exchange in the morning this Sunday. For those who cannot attend our regular events, it is a good opportunity !
As usual, worksheets will be used for both English and Japanese time, so you will learn something new while making new friends.
Since we’re meeting at a different time than usual, if our regular schedule hasn’t worked for you, this might be your chance to join us!

Usually it's $5/person【What is ELEMENTARY Jp-Eng Exchange?】
One BIG FEATURE is that there are no complicated-looking scary Japanese characters on the Japanese worksheet in the ELEMENTARY event ! Zero Hiragana and Katakana, let alone Kanji. Good news, isn't it ? We use English alphabets to learn Japanese in this event !In one word, Duolingo Japanese 101 level.
【Background of the temporal Zero participation fee】
Flamingo Cafe, which has supported WASABI for nearly 3 years, is currently going through operational challenges and hence has to reduce its weekday operating hours to 3 pm.To help support the cafe as much as possible, I decided to host this event. This event is free because I hope that by welcoming more people, we can support the cafe together.

フラミンゴカフェはWASBIの活動を約３年間支えてくださったカフェです。しかし近年の物価高などでカフェの経営が大変になり、平日の営業時間が一時的に3pmまでになりました。
そこで、WASABIとしては少しでもカフェの力になれたらと思い、この度追加でイベントを開催することにしました。
より多くの人にご参加いただければカフェの力添えになれると思い、イベントの参加費を無料といたしました。
