Hi all, cost, & info below, please join everyone for a fun, scenic, interesting linear 2.5 mile or 5.5 mile circular walk

There is almost a secret giant Peninsula that lies below Canary Wharf, so rare that most Londoners have never been there. Underneath Canary Whaft there is the beautiful Mudchute Farm, the largest urban farm in Europe where we will see up close alpacas, donkeys, miniature horses & much more (stop for a drink and cake if cafe open). Much more walk info further below..

Please note: Only 5.5 mile walk contains SS Britain docks, River Thames walk and WW2 memorial. 2.5 mile is a linear walk (ends about 3.30pm) ending at Island Gardens Station.

See where Isambard Kingdom Brunel famous SS Great Eastern set sail, the launching docks are amazingly still there since Victorian times!

We will see other amazing hidden gems, visit these giant docks which were once home to the East & West India companies. Britain was the most powerful nation on Earth and the docks were part of this colossal network

We will walk above a train station where there are giant rooftop gardens, with exotic trees and species around the World

There are still giant anti-aircraft World War 2 guns in place from the attack of the Luftwaffe, view stunning Greenwich from the other side looking at the Maritime Museum & the Cutty Sark, visit the practically unknown area of Isle of Dogs & Island Gardens and also we have an amazing walk along the River Thames back to Canary Whaft.

Please meet upstairs at the top of the giant escalators on the Jubilee Line, the meeting area is outside the very front of Canary Wharf Station. This is located next to the Alchemist Pub and the bike racks in front of the station where the water is. If coming off the Jubilee Line underground train please follow the signage for Jubilee Plaza, DLR and Elizabeth Line

The Isle of Dogs was marsh, being several feet below water at high tide, In 1660 the river started to break through the peninsula.

The name "Mudchute" derives from it being the former dumping ground for mud dredged from the Millwall Docks in the 1800's. In the 1970's the land was down for redevelopment but the locals fought hard & we are extremely lucky to have almost a countryside rural setting at Mudchute.

Canary Whaft Station Toilets are in the Jubilee Place Mall, turn left at ‘Cos’ walk along the main corridor, turn left before the escalator, where there is an alcove. It is where the ‘Photo Me’ Booth is situated.

ABOUT OUR SECRET LONDON WALKS
It is a 15-year fascinating journey together to explore the whole of beautiful, enchanting Secret London. The only walking group in the World offering this unique experience!

The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 50 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you!

It is then shortened, to give back to you a magical walk with all the best bits of 'Lovely London', voted the best City in the World for the 10th year running!

What is given back to you is the most scenic, healthy walk (usually 3-6 miles in length) with some of the walks containing hidden cobbled lanes, lost shops, secret gems, areas lost in time, wonderful views, idyllic Instagram photo shots and all sorts! Now and then some brief local info is mentioned or something of historical importance along the way.

You will have plenty of time to chat and meet new friends whilst walking the amazing lost areas of London! So we welcome you to the colourful highlights of this fascinating City of London with simply wonderful things to see!

We advise carrying water and some snacks.

The organiser is also not responsible for any circumstances that may affect the group or personally such as personal accidents, rail information, engineering works, cancellations, rail strikes or delays, heavy traffic, tours affected, weather, walk paths or routes closed, postcodes for car parks or for when we arrive back at the station, or anything else not mentioned!

Hi all, cost and info below. (Direct Links to The Underground for the start of walk) Please join everyone for a stunning 4.8 mile beautiful linear River Thames walk and brief history combined for a new walk never operated at the weekend before! Some amazing highlights on the walk include the Woolwich Arsenal; the manufacture of armaments and ammunition that employed 80,000 people.

Fabulous artwork including Antony Gormley (Angel Of The North), Thames Barrier, Gun batteries, absolutely amazing derelict factories by the Thames that have trees growing through the buildings! How the amazing Woolwich Ferry life started and Emirates Cable Car, a wonderful Thames-side dockland site with lakes, flora and wildlife, plus hides for bird watching and see the ferry from 'Ferry on the Mersey' Song!

WHERE TO MEET - As we have members that will arrive from the Elizabeth Line, National Rail and DLR Stations it is best to meet outside the front doorway of The Guards House Pub, No 1 St, Royal Arsenal, London SE18 6GH. It is nearest to the Elizabeth Line. When you exit the Elizabeth Line, please walk directly across the grass to the other side about 80 meters away.

The walk ends at the North Greenwich Jubeliee Line at the O2 Arena. At the end of the walk feel free to have drinks at one of the outlets outside the O2 or even inside the O2!

Hi all, cost & info below, 'ONLY ONCE EVERY 2 YEARS MIDWEEK WALK' Please join everyone for a stunning 3.5 mile, 5 mile or 6.5 mile beautiful, fascinating walk. We will walk along part of an amazing stretch of the River Thames and the local area adjacent, see where some of the Pilgrims set sail on the Mayflower ship, the captain of the Mayflower is buried in the local churchyard, the names and messages from the crew written on the walls, the old warehouses, remains Edward III Manor House, Mudlarkers, where Captain Cook prepared his Australian voyage and Samuel Pepys drank, the 'Fighting Temeraire' was painted by J.W Turner coming in to be hauled and scrapped

Where Charles Dickens described this area as the poorest in London, Butler's Whaft and the amazing Shad Thames, stunning historical area, location of Maltby Street Market (operates weekends only) a Tibetan tea room, a old factory where seal fur was made, beautiful parks and canals and a wall with an eye looking at you!

Please note: This walk does not repeat or cover routes from the recent London Bridge and Bermondsey walk. This is a completely different walk
