Spend the weekend sipping wine, exploring stunning beaches, and soaking in those classic island vibes with an amazing crew. We’ll be camping under the stars (with a limited number of spots available for hotel accommodations for those who prefer a little extra comfort).

WHAT IS INCLUDED:
- 2 nights of accommodations – Camping under the stars on Catalina
- We have a limited number of hotel spots available for those who prefer extra comfort.
- All camp meals – Delicious camp meals to keep you fueled for adventure. See more info below
- Entertainment at the Catalina Wine Mixer – Live music, wine tastings, and all the island vibes
- Please note: IF you want to sign up for the extra wine tastings or VIP lounge area, that is extra
- Your fun and adventurous host to lead the way and make sure you have an unforgettable time
- All group logistics and planning taking care for you, just sit back and enjoy the ride!
NOT INCLUDED:
- Round-trip ferry to Catalina Island – No need to worry about logistics, we’ve got it covered
- Mixer Wine Tasting tickets or Movie tickets at the mixer
- Personal Travel to LA area (flight or drive)
- Personal drinks, food out, & extras – Wine tastings, food out, coffee, and anything extra you'd like to partake in
- Optional kayak/snorkel rental – If you want to join the excursion but don’t have your own gear
- Travel insurance – Just in case life throws a curveball
WHAT TO BRING:
Since we’re camping on Catalina, you’ll need to bring some essential gear to stay comfortable.
- Tent – Bring your own or coordinate with a friend to share
- Sleeping bag – A warm one for cool island nights (rated to about 25-30°F should be good)
- Sleeping pad – Comfort is key for a good night’s rest
- Simple mess kit – Plate/bowl, utensils, and a lightweight cup for meals
- Headlamp or flashlight – Essential for navigating after dark
- Toiletries for shower etc
- Hiking clothes and sturdy shoes – Be ready for island trails and adventure
- Layers for warmth – Evenings can be cool with the ocean breeze
- Sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen – The sun can be strong, even in cooler weather
- Personal toiletries and travel essentials – Keep it minimal but bring what you need
- Fun outfit for the Catalina Wine Mixer – You may want to bring something less "campy" to wear for the mixer
- Small daypack / tote– For carrying essentials while exploring

Camping on Catalina Island
We’ll be staying at Hermit Gulch Campground, the only campground located within Avalon’s city limits, nestled in a scenic canyon surrounded by rugged island landscapes. This spot offers easy access to trails, stunning views, and a peaceful outdoor setting, while still being just a short hour walk or shuttle ride from the lively downtown area.
**HOTEL Option: **Please check out this event page for info on the hotel lodging options for the weekend. Those that choose this route are encouraged dine and hangout with the main Urban Diversion camping group throughtout the weekend :)
Our Campsite Includes:
- Tent camping with designated campsites
- Restrooms and coin-op showers available onsite
- Picnic tables for group meals and hangouts
- Convenient access to Avalon – a short hike or quick trolley ride away
- Beautiful hiking trails right from camp, including the famous Hermit Gulch Trail
Whether you’re an experienced camper or new to it, this is the perfect blend of adventure and accessibility—immersing you in Catalina’s natural beauty, while keeping the Wine Mixer and all the fun within easy reach.
Note about walking on the Island:
Walking is the primary form of transportaion on the island. Other than our feet, there is a shuttle and taxi system, or rental golf carts. For those staying at Hermit Gulch Campground, keep in mind that the campground is about a 20 minute walk from the downtown Avalon area (the fun spot). You can also choose to opt for the shuttle option for a small fee, which is a great alternative if you’d rather save your energy.
