Fifth Anniversary Friday Morning Hike & Picnic at Hyland Lake Park Reserve

Details
Please join us for a hike and picnic to celebrate the fifth anniversary of our Friday morning hikes at Hyland Lake Park Reserve. It would be great if everyone who has hiked with us at Hyland the past five years could join the celebration!
We will hike our usual Friday time, from 8 am to 10 am. After the hike, we will have a picnic celebration in the picnic area. Leaders will bring brats and buns and plates and utensils. Hikers can sign up to bring side dishes. We're looking for a volunteer grill master-anyone interested? Sign up in Comments section.
One option to hike will be approx. 15.5 - 16 minute miles on a route 6.5 to 7 miles. A second option will be a slower hike (approximately 17 minute miles) on a 5.5 mile route. We will hike on grass and wood chip trails most of the way with a small section of paved trails. The first option route will include some moderate to steep hills and, for those who want an extra workout, we will go down/up at least one ski hill about mid-way through the hike.
We will hike in light rain but not a thunderstorm. If it looks like bad weather, I'll cancel the hike and picnic by 7:00 a.m.
We will meet up outside the Visitor Center (next to the children's play area) at 8:00 and get going by 8:10. The restrooms are open and a cold water fountain is available to fill your water bottle both before and after the hike.
If your plans have changed and you are unable to attend, please update your RSVP in a timely manner so we are not waiting for you at the start and to allow those on the waitlist to attend.
Questions? Send me a message or post your questions in the comments section after you RSVP.
Hike at your own risk: By signing up for this event, you agree to assume personal responsibility for all risks associated with this event, and release the organizers, event hosts, and other members of the venue, from any liability.
Hope to see you at the celebration!
