Arbuckle Wilderness & Turner Falls Camping Trip

Details

Time to explore some of the best of what Oklahoma has to offer. We will be hiking for two days at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. It has tons of small waterfalls nestled in the forests of the Arbuckle Wilderness. Fun fact is that it actually used to be called Platt National Park. That's right, we will be hiking in a place that used to be a national freaking park! We will also drive through the Arbuckle Mountains on our way to visit Turner Falls, which is the largest waterfall in Oklahoma at 77-feet tall.

I have booked Cabin No. 2 at Rocky Point Cabins. There are still plenty of cabins available for the first weekend in May. If you don't want to spring for a cabin, then you can also stay at the Point Campground just four minutes away from Rocky Point. You also have the option of sharing a cabin with others embarking on this trip, so don't be afraid to reach out to others if you don't feel like tent camping but also don't want to spend $150 a night on a cabin solely for yourself.

An added bonus is that both Rocky Point Cabins and the Point Campground are just a few minutes away from a swimming beach located on Lake of the Arbuckles. Below are links to Rocky Point Cabins and the Point Campground. I'll post a full trip itinerary on here about a week before the trip.
