We are reading Didion's famous essay "Some Dreamers of the Golden Dream," from her collection of essays Slouching Towards Bethlehem. A true story of murder in the San Bernardino Valley in the 1960s. Didion, a journalist, uses the setting as a foreboding influence in this haunting story.
