HIKE FOUR TRAILHEADS IN ONE DAY/GET CERTIFIED BY FLORIDA FORESTRY

It’s ONE FUN FULL DAY of hiking.

Take the opportunity to not only walk the miles but be certificated to walk the miles. Florida Forestry has utilized The Trailwalker Program to encourage hikers to discover the Florida State Forests.

The CONCEPT — hike ten trails in at least five different state forests, receive a TRAILWALKER patch. Do it again, receive a TRAIL BLAZER chevron. Do it a third time, receive a TRAILMASTER chevron. Connect all three and they’re yours to display on your shirt, cap or backpack. (See Photos.)

A wall certificate, a nail-on medallion for your walking stick, a T-shirt, and two (2) reflective bumper stickers are included. (The patch, t-shirt, stickers, certificate and medallion are pictured below.)

The Four-Trail Trailwalker's Day is Saturday, May 24th. We’ll drive to four, possibly five state forests that lie west of Ocala National Forest. Trail Homies has scouted these trails and put together a tight, compact itinerary to get halfway to your first patch. We'll start the first trail at 7:30 AM to get a head start.

If you hiked with Trail Homies at Seminole State Forest in January or Joshua Creek in the Charles H. Bronson State Forest in February, you can count those trailheads toward your first badge.

We will stop for breakfast and dinner, even if it's fast food. Bring a lunch you can eat while hiking. The average distance of each trail is less than two miles.

The cost to Trail Homies is $21.

Qualifier: please only sign up if you are certain to go. There are no refunds. RSVPs will end a week before the event so that we can organize the details (crew, transportation, etc.; the meeting place will be determined once we've connected in text.)
