Monday Moves-- Capital Crescent Trail
Monday Moves-- Capital Crescent Trail
DCC's "Monday Moves" on the Capital Crescent Trail and through Rock Creek Park Join DCC and Conte’s Bike Shop (Navy Yard) for a fun ~33.5 mile and ~1,200 ft elevation ride to the: Audi Field, Titanic Memorial, Wharf, Hains Point, along the Capital Crescent Trail, Bethesda, through Rock Creek Park, WW II Memorial, The Mall, and U.S. Capitol. This ride will be geared towards our newer riders (with a chill pace and no one left behind), but all are welcomed. This ride will be on the streets, trails and sidewalks. We will go over things to help riders become more comfortable with riding in groups. We will meet at Conte’s Navy Yard Bike Shop at 10 am and depart at 10:15. All riders should bring their own hydration and nutrition, as well as a spare inner tube. *** Please, no music that can be heard by other riders or ear headphones that impede your hearing. Parking is limited at the Navy Yard, so for those driving, an option is to park at Anacostia Park (aquatic center) and take 11th street bridge to M Street, then a left on 4th. ****all riders ride at their own risk**** If there is a chance of inclement weather expected on Monday, a cancelation notice will be posted by 9:00 pm on Sunday; otherwise, the ride will take place. Below is a link to the ride: (~33 miles and ~1065 ft of elevation) https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41441265

LIVESTREAM | Before First Class: The "Firsts" That Paved the Way
Click here to attend: [https://www.jgoot.com/livestreams](https://www.jgoot.com/livestreams) Some people see first class and assume it starts there. The seat. The lounge. The upgrade. The luxury hotel. You get the idea. The mistake is thinking those experiences begin with money, luck, or status. They don’t. In this special session, JGOOT Founder Joel McDonald shares the many early steps, smart moves, mindset shifts, and lessons that helped create the first-class way of travel he enjoys today. Because the truth is: Premium travel is often built long before the trip ever happens. It’s time for: **Before First Class: The “Firsts” That Paved the Way** Joel will walk through the key moments that shaped his travel journey, the decisions that compounded over time, and the strategies everyday travelers can learn and apply for themselves. Inside this session, you’ll learn: • The early moves that matter more than flashy redemptions • How small decisions can compound into premium travel experiences • What most travelers misunderstand about how luxury travel is built • The mindset shifts that create long-term leverage • How to begin building your own version now This isn’t about copying someone else’s lifestyle. It’s not about chasing a lucky one-time trip. It’s about understanding the steps that create repeatable results. And when you learn those steps, first class stops feeling far away. Annual Trillium Hike
Annual Trillium Hike
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT FOR THIS HIKE: To go on this hike you must purchase in advance a $4 Daily Access Permit (license type 461) from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. You will not need to purchase the permit if you have a currently valid Virginia hunting, fishing, or boat license. You can purchase the permit online, but wait until the day before the hike in case the hike needs to be rescheduled or cancelled. Make sure you carry a copy of the permit (either in paper form or downloaded to your mobile device) on the hike. If you've previously purchased this permit online you can access your [Go Outdoors Virginia](https://license.gooutdoorsvirginia.com/Licensing/CustomerLookup.aspx) account by clicking on the green "Login" button. If you're new to the website you should click on the "Enroll Now!" link below the Login button. You will need to supply the date of the hike when purchasing your permit. This is a moderately strenuous circuit hike of around 8 miles with about 1,100 feet of elevation gain in Virginia's G. R. Thompson Wildlife Management Area and on the Appalachian Trail. It's on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains about 11 miles east of Front Royal. This area has been known for nearly a century as one of the densest concentrations of trilliums in the eastern part of the country, though a scientific explanation remains elusive. When the trilliums are in bloom it's an impressive display. Bring water and pack a lunch or snack or pick up something at Sheetz where we will make a brief stop on the way out. Parking at the trailhead might be limited so carpools are encouraged and will be organized at our meeting point. Each passenger should give his or her driver $11 for the transportation provided. The only other expense will be Adventuring's $5 trip fee. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Kiss & Ride lot of the East Falls Church Metro station or at 10 a.m. at the Thompson Lake Parking Area (2140 Leeds Manor Rd., Delaplane, VA). Please [click here](https://adventuringlgbtq.com/Adventuring_Release_Form.pdf) to review our release form. When you RSVP to an event, you affirm that you have read and agree to the terms of the release.
