What weβre about
π HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE HIDEOUT, THE MOST ACTIVE THRILLER, SCI-FI, ACTION-ADVENTURE AND HORROR FILM CLUB IN LONDON MADE BY FANS FOR FANS.
In a nutshell, we are just a bunch of Die Hard Film Buffs, Filmmakers, Creators, Comic Book Nerds, Geeks, and Trekkies who are aficionados of Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Tim Burton, David Lynch, John Carpenter, James Cameron, Gene Roddenberry, H.P Lovecraft, you name it, who like to go out for drinks and watch movies. Now and again we just meet up for drinks at a social to catch up again at the BFI and thatβs pretty much it.
We are also avid supporters of Independent Cinema, The Film Festival Guild, Medicinema and establishments like Prince Charles Cinema and the British Film Institute to mention a few. Thanks to this we sometimes gain special access and discounts to special events that we can then share with you.
We try to stay well informed when it comes to film news, New Releases and Re-Releases and members are also able to vote for what films they want to see through our Social Media, WhatsApp Group and the non-group WhatsApp Channel.
Whatever the time of year we do our best to always be around, come and join us for a good time.

π IT IS TIME FOR SOME LIGHTNING TO STRIKE
The summer lingered a bit and now we are hopping to see some spicy movies this fall. By the way, did you see anything good last summer?Happy Autumn everyone π The leaves are now falling down with the rain and we expect to see some thunder and lightning on the way. This is what is officially called Spooky Season. Because a long, long time ago, it was a time when the days grew short and ghosts returned to their homes to warm themselves by the fire's side. But Just going back a little bit what did you think about Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, or Alien Romulus? Or did you look the other way? I totally get it because I would like to see something other than a sequel. However I would love to know what you thought about Megalopolis. At least it's something new and original.
Anyway, if this is your first time, we are just a super chilled crowd of movie fans, creators and filmmakers who love Action, Sci fi, Thrillers and Horror movies, meeting up and talking about them. As the wind blows more leaves we will be meeting at the cosy The BFI Riverfront: Balcony Bar (Upstairs). It is a pretty nice place that overlooks Waterloo Bridge and the River Thames. The bar offers a range of dishes and beverages plus we can sit in the inside or outside. It is a pretty cool place to hang out if you are a film buff or a filmmaker and itβs also part of The British Film Institute.
Letβs get together again over some beverages and talk about what's been happening in our lives. Looking forward to seeing you and until then may the force be with you!

πͺ NO REASON, NO CONSCIENCE, NO UNDERSTANDING
Not in even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil or right or wrong. Just a blank pale emotionless face. The blackest eyes... the DEVIL'S eyes! Then you finally come to realise that what is living behind those eyes is purely and simply... EVIL!Hey Happy Halloween Season π And there is no better time of the year to watch this little independent flick. This film was originally titled The Babysitter Murders and it was the brain child of movie producer Irwin Yablans. And although the slasher genre itself was arguably created by Alfred Hitchcockβs Psycho in 1960, this movie is largely responsible for its popularisation. Yablans approached John Carpenter after watching his movie Assault on Precinct 13 and Carpenter who was inspired at the time by the film Black Christmas agreed to do it so long as he had complete creative control. His then girlfriend Deborah Hill also agreed to produce this film as she was inspired by Celtic tradition of Samhuinn and although this was never mentioned in this movie, it was mentioned in the novelisation and later in the sequel The Curse of Michael Myers.
If you are rewatching this movie or watching it for the first time, it is a good nut to crack on this Halloween season. Check out the schedule below:
- 7:00 PM: We will meet at the BFI Riverfront Bar (upstairs) we will merge with the Darkness Falls Social.
- 8:20 PM: Then you will be escorted a floor down to the NF4 Salon to watch the legacy film of Halloween. Please select your preferred seat.
- 10:10 PM: We briefly reconvene outside the screen to score the film. The results will be published on our Club Boards and on our WhatsApp or Telegram Group (available at request) or you can join the WhatsApp Channel or Telegram Channel.

π¬ PLOT DETAILS- Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois to kill again. Trailer

π THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS
This is a proverb that refers to the difference between what someone intends to do and the outcome of their actions. How ya doing y'all? I must confess I am not a big fan of Hugh Grant but itβs good see him step into a villainous role. Although now that I think about it he is still playing a well mannered and polite gentleman on the surface. No, disrespect intended LOL. A plus for this movie is that itβs produced by A24 Studios who are responsible for films like Hereditary and Ex-Machina, and the directors attached are Scott Beck and Bryan Woods who recently directed 65 and Haunt. The rest of the cast seem pretty cool like Sophie Thatcher from Yellowjackets and Chloe East from The Fabelmans. Fun fact or coincidence maybe is that the home portrayed in this movie is indicative of the infamous serial killer H. H. Holmes who designed a murder castle out of a hotel. Also, this film seems to hit close to home, but more of that later.
So I guess no good deed goes unpunished but personally I think hell is full of good meanings, but heaven is always full of good works. What can I say? That's just the optimist in me. Here is the plan for tonight:
- 7:00 PM: We meet at the Vue Cinema Bar which will be on the 1st floor. You will need to pick up your ticket before proceeding to the upstairs bar. Look out for The Hideout Sign.
- 8:15 PM: We're off to Vue Screen 3 to be judged by some lunatic in Heretic. I will be in recliner seat A6 if you want to sit in the same row.
- 10:30 PM: We briefly reconvene to score the film. The results will be posted on our Club Boards and on our WhatsApp or Telegram Group(available at request) or you can join the WhatsApp Channel or Telegram Channel.

π ₯ ANOTHER PREDICTION YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED
Have you noticed something strange in the air? Almost as if something sinister has made its way into the houses that vow to do right by us.What's up guys π So this is another cool film hidden message-level movie like the one we saw earlier this year with Alex Garlandβs Civil War. Only this time we will be going back to James McTeigueβs 2005 hit film V for Vendettawhich is set somewhat possibly between 2025 and 2028. I thought it would be interesting because next year will be 2025 and apparently this film is seen by some as a warning. The movie is also based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore which describes a dystopian future of England being ravaged by a pandemic, famine, and war. Now, doesn't that sound familiar?
If there is something happening between the lines, then maybe this movie will tell us. Hereβs the schedule breakdown for this evening:
- 7:00 PM: We will meet a The Clubhouse5 where a table will be reserved under Jonny.
- 8:30 PM: Then we proceed to Prince Charles Cinem to see the beautiful Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta. My seat of choice is A7 if you would like to sit in the same row.
- 11:00 PM: We briefly reconvene to score the film. The results will be published on our Club Boards and on our WhatsApp or Telegram Group(available at request) or you can join the WhatsApp Channel or Telegram Channel

π¬ PLOT DETAILS- In a future British dystopian society, a shadowy freedom fighter, known only by the alias of "V", plots to overthrow the tyrannical government - with the help of a young woman. Trailer
