The Magpie: Denver Writers' Group

We are a stream-of-consciousness writing group that meets in person at Tattered Cover Colfax every Thursday from 6-8. We focus more on story generation than editing/critique, though if you'd like feedback on your work we are happy to accommodate.

We are a group that celebrates creativity in community. All you need is a pen, paper and your imagination.

During our meetings, we write to two different prompts, each for 20 minutes.

From 6-7 we write and share (if you wish) to the first prompt and do the following from 7-8. We take a short break around 7, before our second writing.

There is no need to stay the entire time. There is also no need to share your writing: we are happy to have you come, write and just listen if you'd like!

You are welcome to bring a prompt for the group to write on, as well.

Finally, we ask that you consider contributing a $5 donation afterwards if you've enjoyed the experience. Funds go toward our zines, which we publish 5-6 times per year, paying for Meet-Up, and growing our presence in the Denver area.
