Details

People familiar with the Mall of Georgia area will be surprised to find a hiking trail that meanders along a creek and traverses under several overpasses near the stores.

As usual with most of my hikes, we offer a secret section or two that makes your hike more than just a hike. This hike includes a waterfall, a bird sanctuary, a huge suspension bridge in the middle of nowhere, and more. At the end of the hike, you can enjoy the Environmental Center or try your skill on the zip lines - both in the parking lot where we start and end our hike!

Notes:
Distance = Eight+ miles
Time: Budget ~ 3 hours
Skill Rating = Very easy
Pace = Fast: 3 to 3½ miles per hour
Special Equipment = None needed
Other Stuff = No dogs. Kids that can keep the posted pace are encouraged to attend. And as always, please make sure to bring some food, water, and snacks.

Directions/Meeting Spot:
. From 985 North, take the first exit (20)
. Take a right at the second light
. Drive ~ one mile, then turn left at the sign for the Georgia Environmental Center
. Park at the back of the parking lot
. Meet in front of the Georgia Environmental Center by noon

And don't forget: we'll go to a restaurant or a brewery after the hike.

See you on the trail!
