🏞️Hope 10 mile Walk🌲Win Hill🌲Ladybower Wood and Reservoir🏞️

Details
This stunning walk starts in Hope Village, the views are spectacular for most of the walk.
Our route goes under the railway and follows farmland, it soon joins a track across moorland which gradually ascends towards Win Hill.
The path soon steepens all the way up to the trig point, Win Hill Pike, 462m high with stunning views of Ladybower Reservoir.
There are many paths off Win Hill, our route descends steeply through Win Hill Plantation joining a path through beautiful woodlands and along Ladybower Reservoir.
Our chosen route starts to ascend through woodland up to Hollins Cross. This Historical landmark is a Guide Staff, it stands 7ft high with a capstone bearing the names of Edale Hope Glossop and Sheffield. The date 1737 is carved on the top of it, it was probably the date it was restored. It lies at the crossroads of an ancient Packhorse route through the Peak District, the views are spectacular from here.
We follow the Roman Road for a short while until we veer off and descend along grassy tracks to Bagshore Bridge.
Our route then ascends onto a higher route and takes us back to Hope through open pastures and lanes with beautiful views all the way.
A fairly challenging walk in parts with one or two steep ascents and descents on rocky paths and through woodland
Catching up points as always and plenty of breaks along the way
Bring a picnic lunch, enough water and snacks to keep you going
Toilets at the start in the car park
Walking boots are essential, due to the varied terrain, a walking pole is always helpful
As always check the weather and dress accordingly
Doggies are always welcome 🐕🦮🐕🦺
Look forward to sharing our next adventure..👩🦯🐕🚶♀️🚶🐄🐑🦮
