What we’re about
Tapestry Folkdance Center is a nonprofit arts organization founded in 1983, which offers weekly folk, contra, and English country dancing at our own building (3748 Minnehaha Ave S, Minneapolis). Tapestry dances are alcohol free, no partner is needed, and the dancing is good exercise. Many people use the word "joy" when describing what Tapestry means to them.
You do not need to join this meetup group to dance at Tapestry - just show up at the door. We host international folk dancing every Friday night, contra dancing (similar to square dancing) every Saturday night, and English country dancing every Sunday night. Beginners are very welcome at all dances - if you are unsure, contra dancing is a good place to start.
Tapestry also offers Bollywood dance classes, waltzes, Scottish dancing, Scandinavian dancing, and ballroom dancing. Please see our main web page at http://www.tapestryfolkdance.org, and calendar at http://www.tapestryfolkdance.org/index.php/calendar/cal.
