What we’re about
The Tampa Bay User Experience Group is a volunteer-led user experience professional organizations in south central Florida created by Krissy Scoufis in August, 2013. Mike Gallers and Beth Galambos joined the leadership team shortly after the group started and together they hosted over 70+ events.
In 2022, Rob Vanasco took over the group and began hosting meetups in January 2023.
The purpose of the group is to provide ways for the local UX community, and those interested in UX, to connect, learn, and grow.
The goal of the group is to..
- Create a place where people feel welcome, accepted, and heard.
- Provide opportunities for people to learn and practice UX principles.
- Connect people with one another.
- Provide opportunities to serve our communities and use our UX skills to improve the lives of the people around us.

See all- Become the Linchpin: Irreplaceable Skills in the Age of AILink visible for attendees
AI is reshaping the world of work. The real question isn’t “will I be replaced?” but “how do I stay valuable?”
That’s what we’ll tackle in this free, 1-hour interactive webinar: Becoming the Linchpin.
Instead of another flat lecture, we’re borrowing from retro Nintendo storytelling to explore Seth Godin’s Linchpin lessons alongside Facilitation Fundamentals.
Think of it as leveling up your own character sheet:
- 🍄 Facilitation → Clarity, not drama (your Mushroom power-up)
- 📜 Fluency → Translate AI for humans (your Magic Scroll)
- 🗺 Foresight → Spot what stays human (your Map to hidden levels)
We’ll also wrestle with a paradox: Godin urges us to be indispensable, while critics warn no one truly is. In the AI era, the win is becoming a linchpin without becoming a bottleneck.
### Why join?
- Link up with peers like a co-op team, not just another webinar audience
- Pick up a facilitation “cheat code” you can use in your very next meeting
- Discover where humans still hold the unbeatable advantage over AI
- Get a sneak peek at the upcoming in-person Facilitation Bootcamp in Tampa
### Who it’s for
- UX designers, design leaders, and facilitators thinking about their future
- Professionals curious about fractional or freelance paths
- Anyone ready to turn facilitation into their irreplaceable skill set
### Format
Interactive “mini-games” (short exercises, chat prompts, reflection quests). No boring monologues—expect to play, share, and walk away with practical upgrades.
