Tampa Bay Bitcoin is the largest, longest running Bitcoin group in Central Florida. The Bitcoin Bay Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that is working to build a Bitcoin Circular Economy in the Tampa Bay Area.
This group is dedicated to providing neutral information and education resource on Bitcoins & creating a community hub of Bitcoin activity and innovation.
We will help you get started, understanding what you need to know on which wallets to use, exchanges, and especially how to avoid scams (there are many). You will learn how the technology actually works and how to safely get & use Bitcoin.
We're a friendly group of beginners, enthusiasts, miners, programmers, entrepreneurs, investors, visionaries, technologist and hodlers, we invite you to come learn more about this exciting new space!

Bitcoin Country: An Evening with Sandy from El Salvador

El Salvador made history in 2021 as the first country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender. But what does that actually look like on the ground? Sandy has lived every chapter of the story, from volcano-powered mining and Bitcoin Beach, to the everyday reality of merchants, families, and travelers using sats in the wild.
She'll share what bitcoin adoption really means in her country, what's changed for regular Salvadorans, and why so many bitcoiners are visiting and moving there. Whether you're brand new to bitcoin, planning your first trip to ES, or curious what a bitcoin standard actually feels like, this is a rare chance to hear it firsthand from someone who lives it every day.
