Swing Dancing at the Fed / Austin Swing Syndicate

Hello, and welcome! The Austin Swing Syndicate has been holding their Swing dance every single Thursday for 23 years. Every week, we set up a sound system in an authentic, vintage, 1930s mansion and play DJed Swing music in the ballroom for dancers. For only a few nights a year, however, we host a live band in our ballroom––an even more magical experience. Visit our website for more info!

This group is for new and experienced dancers alike. Great for those who are new to town, visiting from out of town, or wanting to try something new! Dancers range from ages 18-68+

• Regular Admission: $8
• LIVE BAND Admission: $20

The meetup is attending the lesson and joining the dance. There are hundreds of people to meet and everyone is very friendly but we are not doing social hours until the meetup attendance grows.

The How-To:
1. Pay for admission.
2. Intro lesson begins @ 8:15-9 PM.
3. Music 9-12 AM. Note: You do not need to stay for the entire dance!

What To Bring:
-Semi-formal to formal wear you'd comfortable sweating in (skirts/dresses/button-up shirts/slacks)
-Gum/mints
-Deodorant, if you think you'll need to reapply.
-Water bottle (optional)
-Hair ties (optional)

Free parking at garage in the alley between Longview St. and Leon St.

Included: Bathrooms (and an authentic "powder room"), exceptional AC, water fountains, an abundance of chairs, and hard-wood floors–perfect for dancing.
