3D Development with React Three Fiber

We start with the Model (M), typically defined in a .ts file using TypeScript interfaces, types, classes, or data structures. The Model represents the data our application or 3D experience will use, such as numbers, strings, positions, character stats, or object properties.

Next, we build the Controller (C), which contains the application logic that works with and updates that data. This logic can be handled through TypeScript functions, React hooks, Context, or other state-management techniques.

Finally, we create the View (V) using .tsx files. This is where JSX/TSX is used to take the Model’s data and the Controller’s logic and turn them into what the user sees and interacts with. With React Three Fiber, the View can include 3D objects, scenes, cameras, lights, animations, and other interactive elements.

👨🏻‍💻 SPEAKER: Erick Esquilin

Erick Esquilin is a software professional, educator, and 3D character animator with a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. He specializes in software development, TypeScript/React, Microsoft Power Platform, game development, and 3D animation using Blender and Maya. Erick also teaches computer science and coding, with a passion for helping students explore technology through hands-on programming, game development, and digital creativity. Outside of software development, he creates cinematic 3D animation and interactive experiences, combining technology and storytelling to bring creative ideas to life.
