Sunday Evening Hike on San Clemente's Sea Summit & Beach Trails

ABOUT THE HIKE: We will meetup at the San Clemente outlets in front of Starbucks to start our hike down the beautiful Sea Summit Trails with magnificent vistas of the Pacific Ocean towards the San Clemente Pier. This is a brisk hike of ~5.5 miles over a 2 hour period, advanced beginner hike with about 300 feet of elevation gain/loss. We are starting and ending at the outlets hoping that the timing is right to enjoy the sunset as we return from the Pier to the Outlets. This hike is a loop down the Sea Summit trail to the pier and back; we end at the Outlets where there are many dining options for those who want to enjoy a bite to eat.

Detour: the elevated bridge is under repair

• When we reach the North Beach Trail, we will need to take a detour and may decide to take the wet sand walk toward the pier if low tide permits or will need to take a short stroll through a neighborhood and down some stairs. The trip will entail climbing the stairs or walking the beach to get to the pier. We will be hiking at a steady, moderate pace with re-group stops at some trail junctions and vista points. Hike time will be approximately two hours. The hike is dog friendly.

ABOUT THE POST HIKE OPTIONAL CELEBRATION: For those interested in eating after the hike, the outlets offer several dining choices.
