What we’re about
The Sunday Alternative, now in it's 10th year, is an inclusive secular community that meets regularly to celebrate life with great music, ideas and community outreach.
The Sunday Alternative is an excellent way to meet new people and form deep lasting friendships.
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Think BetterReading Biscuit Factory, Reading
Think Better is the philosophical arm of the Sunday Alternative - a secular community that celebrates life.
Each month, we come together to explore the subject of the last assembly in greater depth. There is no requirement to attend the assembly - but you might like to do so - as the subject at hand will be of general interest. See here for more details of the assembly.
This month, we are looking at “Labelling People”. The assembly will be interactive giving us a visceral understanding of the power of labelling people. Think Better will examine that subject philosophically.
Think Better isn’t a debating group where we attempt to persuade others of a particular point of view, but a gentle and slow examination of the philosophical strength of any point that arises. Our aim at Think Better is not to learn more about stuff, but to think better.
The meeting will be structured so all voices are heard and no voice dominates.
