10.05-10.50 Utilizing AI Vector Search of Oracle Database 23ai using Oracle APEX + Demo
Salim Hlayel, Oracle
In this session, we will discuss Vector Models and the impact of embedding such models inside your Oracle Database 23ai. We will also see a demo of how easy it is to utilize such a feature inside your Oracle APEX application.
10.50-11.00 Short Break
11.00-11.45 Getting Started with GenDev in APEX
Monica Godoy Millan, Oracle
Oracle APEX 24.2 unlocks new capabilities for Generative Development (GenDev), including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) data sources, creating custom data models with natural language in SQL Workshop, a new dynamic action to generate text with AI and more. All of these capabilities make it easy to build intelligent applications that respond with precision and relevance. In this session, you will learn all the basic concepts and steps you need to follow to make the most of GenDev and APEX.
11.45-12.30 Lunch
12.30-13.15 APEX automated testing made easy
Lino Schildenfeld, Freelance Consultant
The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. How hard can it be to get automated UI testing going?
Join me for this session where we will discuss how difficult it is to incorporate some of the popular automation tools like [Cypress.io](http://cypress.io/) and Ghost Inspector into your everyday development life-cycles. We will compare features of these few tools, and how hard it is to install, run and use them with APEX.
We will also cross match them with Selenium, LCT and Playwright.
13.20-14.05 APEX User Authentication and Authorization with SAML
Mathias Magnusson, Evil Ape & Miracle Sweden
Are you also getting requests for using SAML SSO for your applications?
Let's take a look at connecting your APEX instance to AD using SAML2, how to activate it in a new application. Let's further show how to not just use it for autentication but also to drive authorization in your application. This after all tend to be the request as companies want to control all access from their AD.
We'll also take a look at how to use SAML for developers and admins to log into the APEX UI.
14.05-14.45 Coffee and networking
14.45-15.30 APEX migrations and APEX upgrades
Lino Schildenfeld, Freelance Consultant
Do you face the same challenges:
- Why is it hard catching up with the latest versions of APEX?
- What does that entitle from the perspective of your legacy apps?
- How soon should you upgrade and how often?
There are just some commonly asked questions people raise during panel discussions that we will try to address in this session. What makes it so hard for teams to be on top of these. You will hear people say, yes we upgraded our APEX instances but what does it really means!? As much as we all know the process, there is lots to learn about how to make it easier and more manageable.
On the other side, one of the most common reasons why we get hired is to guide teams through the process of migrations. We will talk about ever so popular Forms to APEX migration but we will touch on non Oracle tech to APEX migration too. It will be all about what lessons we learned during our projects and sharing the most important tips with you.
15.35-16.20 Extending E-Business Suite using Oracle APEX + Demo
