Common Ground Board Games Night 🎲

Details
Next board games night is 7pm on Thursday 1 May 2025 at Common Ground Games on Cowane Street (full location and meeting point details below).
Please read all of the following information, to maximise your enjoyment from this event.
What Happens at Board Games Night?
For those who are joining in for the first time this a great opportunity to meet new people and have some fun playing board games together. A series of tables are set up with a mix of board games. Find one of the event organisers (photos on their profiles), say hello, take a seat, find some teammates and start playing!
What Games Are Played?
The venue has a wide range of games to choose from, so no pressure to bring your own. Several board games will be set-up in advance by the owner, so plenty of choice. Find a table, some other Stirling Social Activites Group members and join in. Games are not of the Monopoly/Scrabble variety, generally more modern. Steve the owner is very patient and will explain the rules if necessary.
Location and Meeting Point
This Meetup event is hosted at Common Ground Games which is on Cowane Street near the centre of Stirling (between William Hill and Stirling Tyres, opposite Vincenzo’s Fish and Chips). Look for the Stormtrooper painted on the wall and go along the covered walkway to the front door.
If using Google Maps to find the location please put in the name of the place (Common Ground Games, Cowane Street) rather than the postcode (FK8 2JR).
The what3words code is actual.wrong.rings
There is free parking on streets nearby, or a paid car park about 5mins along the road.
It's very easy to find us when you arrive at Common Ground Games. Go along the covered walkway, in the main door and straight ahead through the double doors into the big room. Once you are in the building the meeting point is inside the big room, look for the welcoming event organisers (photos on the Meetup app). If for any reason you are unable to find the group just message the event chat and we can direct you. You can also approach the snack bar and Steve the owner who can point us out to you :)
Cost
It’s £3 per person to play for the evening (please remember to pay Steve the owner before leaving) - cash and card is accepted.
Food and Drink
There is a small snack bar at the venue, where you can buy hot and cold drinks plus crisps, paninis and chocolate. Please do not bring your own food and drink. There are toilets down the corridor.
Anything Else To Note?
Steve the owner has a dog who sometimes wanders around the floor space. We do not know in advance if and when the dog will appear, so if you are allergic to dogs or you do not like being in their company please bear this in mind. For this reason, we ask that only registered assistance dogs accompany members to this event as opposed to pet dogs.
The room is very large so on cooler/winter evenings you may wish to bring a jumper/jacket.
Board games night is a popular event and there is often a waiting list, please update your status as soon as possible if you are not going to give others a chance. For this reason the +1 guest feature has been removed for this event: please do not randomly bring guests with you. Everybody attending this event must do so by signing up via their own Meetup profile.
Group rules apply (please ensure that you are familar with these for the benefit of all).
