Do you want to start your own business but not sure where or how to start? Well, this group could be for you.
Hi, I'm Jason, host of this Meetup group and I created this group to help others successfully navigate starting their own business. I left my corporate job in 2016 to start my own business and since then, have learned the hard way what to do and what not to do when starting and running a business. Now I'm looking to share what I've learned, through a combination of Q&A drop-in sessions, training courses, and 1:1 and group coaching and mentoring.
Maybe you've got a desire to start your own business but don't know where to start; already have an idea but are not sure what to do next; have already started but are stuck with how to progress, or just wondering what they should be doing with their career/lives and starting a business interests you. Whichever it is, have a look at the events I run and see if this group is for you. Or if you have any further questions, happy to answer those as well.
To give you a bit of background about me and my experience in this area:
- Since 2016, I have created and run my own coffee brand (www.newkingscoffee.co.uk)
- During this process, I validated the idea, built and tested a prototype, sourced suppliers, created a brand, built a website, listed on Amazon, sold to businesses, listed with a national retailer, exported to Europe and the Middle East, hired a team and dealt with about a million other challenges along the way
- I’ve been coaching and mentoring small businesses over the last 7 years and am currently the business coach and mentor for the NatWest Accelerator programme in Bristol, helping 50 entrepreneurs every 6 months to 'accelerate' themselves and their businesses.
- I'm also a small business mentor for the government's Help to Grow programme, as well as for Business Mentors South West.
- I’ve been a participant on the NatWest Accelerator programme (3 times) and the Origin Startup programme, as well as completing numerous business training courses
