Soul of the City Choir is a fun and friendly choir singing pop, soul and gospel classics from Stevie Wonder to Florence and the Machine, The Killers to Bill Withers and much much more!
We think that everyone can sing and whether you're a complete beginner, shower singer or pro this choir is for you!
There are no auditions and no requirements to read music, it's all about the enjoyment of singing.
If you've never experienced the amazing feeling of singing why not give it a try!
We are following government guidelines by staying safe and staying at home so our usual weekly rehearsals are currently on hold.
However, we are still celebrating 10 fantastic years of singing and will be taking choir online!!
Nothing beats a good holler, wherever you are, it just feels good! There has always been singing in the car or shower or doing solo performances in the mirror with a hairbrush ... we're temporarily going back to those well-known times... we can still sing at the top of our voices, we can still feel good.

We can't wait to holler at the top of our voices. Come sing with us! Whether complete beginner, shower singer or more experienced singer, this choir welcomes you! There are no auditions and no requirements to read music, you just need to love to sing!
If you've never experienced the amazing feeling of singing in a choir then come along! We'll teach you everything you need, just bring yourself! If you're coming on your own or new to town, it's a great way to meet new people and, if you like, we can introduce you to other singers.
Not sure which part to sing - no problem, take your best guess. Vanessa, our choir leader will be on hand at rehearsal to help if you think you need to change! We'll be covering classic pop and soul songs as well as toe tapping current songs and getting those harmonies ringing! To give you a flavour, previous terms have included songs from Bill Withers, Florence and the Machine, Arcade Fire, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and more!
This choir is all about the feel good factor that comes from a good old sing!We have 2 choirs. The terms run from
Monday 28th April - 7th July Time: 18.15-19.45 or
Tuesday 29th April - 8th July Time: 19.30-21.00.11 consecutive weeks

Terms end in a gig, so you can revel in your glory and show your pals what you've been up to! Exact gig details TBC - watch this space for updates. We love our end of term shows, it feels amazing being part of it and we highly recommend them for maximum enjoyment! However, if doing the gig isn't for you, singing each week is lots of fun all on its own - come and sing!If you are new to the choir, why not try a free taster? It's a great way to see what the choir is like before joining for the term.
