Hey, Twin Cities Songwriters!
Here's a new venue/opportunity to workshop your melodies, tweak your lyrics and test out your soon-to-be-hit songs in a supportive group of like-minded creative people.
THE SONGWRITERS CIRCLE Twin Cities is a friendly group of pro, aspiring and "seasoned" Twin Cities songwriters, who meet monthly to perform & share our original songs. We do this for fun, constructive feedback and to develop our craft as writers/performers. Similar to the member working meetings of the Songwriters Guild in New York, we conduct our gatherings in a relaxed, supportive and positive format.
We also organize workshops/classes on aspects of songwriting and have occasional professional development presentations-- i.e. legal aspects, music publishing, studio recording production, etc.
Our basic offerings include a monthly songwriters CIRCLE UP! meeting and several acoustic Songwriter Showcases. Check our schedule on meetup.com to discover details on our open mics, showcases, classes and additional special events. You can also find us via Facebook: facebook.com/1songwriterscircle
Songwriters who write and perform in all song styles and genres are welcome (i.e. singer-songwriter, rock, pop, folk, country, R&B, alternative, etc). You don't have to be a singer-- you can bring a proxy or a CD/mp3 demo for our working "Circle Up!" meetings.
Feel free to bring friends for support and audience. There is a $5. suggested donation for each attendee for the working FORUM meetings. Your annual dues of $12 gets you 2 free meetings. Looking forward to seeing YOU there!

Songwriter Circle members and guests please note our group's policy:
Sharing songs in the Songwriters CIRCLE UP! is "Round-Robin"--
that is, each writer presents one song at a time for group feedback.
If we are able to complete a "full round" of writers wanting to share a song, and there is time available, people will have the opportunity to present a second song. If there are songs which are collaborations between two or more writers, those writers can present songs "back to back"-- however, so that group members can appreciate, digest and offer feedback, there needs to be some time in between songs for members to comment immediately after each presented song.
This song sharing policy is modeled after member meetings of the Songwriters Guild in NY (the "Trade Association" of professional songwriters) .
