Greetings Electric Vehicle Enthusiasts!
Welcome to SomEV Presents!
We're here to help spread electric vehicle literacy! This is a group for anyone that is interested in learning more about electric vehicles (EVs); e-bikes, electric scooters, electric mopeds, electric cars, and electric vehicle conversions. In this monthly series, we explore all things electric. The format ranges from lecture-style classes about EV technology, to hands-on meetups where attendees get to roll up their sleeves and work on an actual electric car! We cover everything from the components that make up electric vehicles, like batteries, motors, regenerative braking systems, etc., to the EV's themselves and the infrastructure that supports them.
All SomEV Presents events are completely free and open to the public. No prior knowledge of/experience with Electric Vehicles is required. Some events may have restrictions on the number of attendees due to space constraints, but all such information will be posted clearly on the meetup page in advance.
About SomEV, Inc.
We are SomEV: The Somerville Electric Vehicle Company. We are two battery-engineers-turned-electric-vehicle-makers with over a decade of experience working on various battery chemistries at the forefront of energy storage technology. From synthesizing the basic cathode powders for electrodes, all the way up through constructing fully-functioning battery packs and setting up production lines for commercial products; when it comes to batteries, we've done it all. With our unique insight into battery tech, we took a look at the current electric transportation industry and we asked ourselves, "What would it look like if you started with the battery, and designed a transportation system around that?"
