What we’re about
Welcome to those of you seeking change, healing, and transformation or maybe just more aliveness and joy. This virtual group is for people interested in personal or professional transformation through connecting with the wisdom of the body. The word Soma means whole body and in Somatics, we view breakthrough change as happening not when one gains enough new insights and knowledge about an issue or pattern, but rather when one engages in new practices that transform who we are at the physical level as well.
This group will include dialogue, discussion, and practices that help you build your relationship with your body, connect with what is important to you in your life, and increase resilience for managing life stressors.
I am a Somatic Coach and Pain Reprocessing Therapist, and I have a therapeutic background as well. I completed my MSW in 2011 and worked with survivors of domestic and sexual violence and folks who have experienced various kinds of trauma. I'm trained in Polyvagal theory, Strozzi Somatics, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and Somatic Internal Family Systems. My work is especially focused on LGBTQ+ folks and people experiencing chronic illness/pain/disability, though I welcome all people interested in transformation through the body. To learn more about my work, check out my website.
Welcome to the group!
Warmly,
Kristina Armenakis

In this group, you'll learn about transformation utilizing the wisdom of the body. The group will include a check in, an overview of Somatics, and practices to increase your Somatic (body-based) awareness. You will come away with practices to support your growth and opportunities to engage more with Somatics. No need to prepare anything, just show up and I'll guide you through the rest. My style is warm and welcoming, and all practices can be done standing, sitting down, or even lying down if needed.
This meetup is by donation ($5-$20 suggested range) and no one turned away for lack of funds.
Today's topic for this lunch time workshop is Embodied Joy. For more information on my work, please check out my website: https://kristinaarmenakis.com/
