⛺️ Located at the end of Megalong Valley, Dunphy’s campground is a great option if you’re looking for a Blue Mountains camping getaway, less than an hour’s drive from Katoomba and Blackheath.
⛺️ Offering 15 sites in a grassy, open setting with views of Mt Cloudmaker and the Wild Dog mountains, it’s suitable for both tents and camper trailers.
⛺️ The campground makes a great base for day walks and fishing along the Cox’s River, extended hikes to Kanangra Walls, and climbing Narrow Neck’s cliffs.
🚶‍♂️The short, family-friendly walk up to Bellbird Point is delightful in spring. You can also connect with Six Foot walking track, down the road, or the 132km Katoomba to Mittagong trail.
🦘Nature lovers are well catered for here. Keep an eye out for kangaroos and wombats visiting the grassy clearings, or wedge-tailed eagles and flocks of cockatoos above.
🪨 History buffs can check out the ruins of an original settler’s cottage nearby.

Vehicle access:
🚗 Suitable for 2WD vehicles.
🅿️ Parking is available at Dunphys campground for vehicles and camper trailers.

Road quality:
🚗 The final 5km section of road is unsealed and is narrow and steep at times. It can become be boggy after rain.
🏕️ Access to the campground is through private property, requiring you to pass through 3 gates. Please leave gates open or closed as you found them.
🚙 Drive slowly and watch out for children, livestock and native animals.
🚕 Mixture of sealed and unsealed roads.

🚻 Non-flush toilets
🧺 Picnic tables
🧑‍🍳 Barbecue facilities
🥓 Gas/electric barbecues (coin-operated)
🔥 Fire rings (bring your own firewood)

⛺️ This campground is in a remote location, so ensure you come well-prepared.

📱 There’s no power, no tap water with limited or no phone reception at the campground.

🏨 If you wish to glam up, you may stay at a hotel, motel, caravan park, farmstay, Airbnb etc in Blackheath, Katoomba, Medlow Bath or Leura.

🗓️ SATURDAY, 31st May:
🚗 Option 1:
⏰ 9.45am - Day Out - Hanging Rock, Anvil Rock & Wind Eroded Cave.

🚙 Option 2:
🚶‍♂️Grand Canyon Walk.
You may park your car either at Neates Glen Carpark, Grand Canyon Carpark or Evans Lookout Carpark to start this amazing walk, about 7km loop on Moderate/Hard tracks.

🚕 Option 3:
You may drive to Blackheath, Katoomba, Leura, Medlow Bath or other places checking out the markets, galleries, museums, gardens, wineries, lookouts etc.

🎒WHAT TO BRING:
Campers - tent, sleeping bag etc. Food, snacks, drinking water at least 10L, portable stove, utensils, plates, mug, fold-up table, chairs, washing liquid, wash basin, gazebo, warm jacket, thermals, beanie, gloves, blankets (cooler temperature at night), powerbank, headlight, byo firewood (if No Fire Ban), cozzies and towel, wet wipes, all creature comforts that you can think of and kitchen sink! 🛒

🚿 I have basic shower tent that you’re welcome to use. BYO washing water and shower gel.
💦 Please bring water containers to collect water from the water tank or river near the campground for washing and showers.

NOTES:
🔥 Free firewood may be available from Gumtree listings in your area.
🪵 You may also get it from Bunnings, Mitre10 or selected service stations for $20 a bag.
💰 The costs will be shared amongst campers.

💵 GRATUITY 💵
$25 PRE-PAID (non refundable if you cancel or no show) per person for research, planning and preparation for this event.

🎫 FYI - I have booked and paid National Park campsites booking fees for the group from 27th May - 3rd June.

⛺️ You may come and camp for how many nights as you wish on those dates.
⛺️ Campsites are unassigned on first come first served basis.

📝 Note that there’s no public transport to/from the campground. If you require a lift or able to offer a lift with share petrol, please update on comments section.
