La Jolla Coastal Walk

Details
Join us for a walk along the La Jolla coast and the Coastal Trail. We will meet outside the Museum of Contemporary Arts, 700 Prospect Street, La Jolla. Walk will start promptly at 8:35 am.
From the meeting point we’ll head south on Prospect St then take Cuvier St to Coast Blvd. We will head north on the sidewalk along Coast Blvd passing by the Children’s Pool, Shell Beach, Ellen Browning Scripps Park and Point La Jolla. At the Cave Store we will continue on the Coastal Trail. The trail is .6 miles, sandy, with a couple of slight inclines and a small set of stairs. At the end of the trail we’ll turn around and head back to our starting point. Total distance of 2.5 miles with 171 feet elevation gain, approximately one hour of walking time. We will have plenty of time to stop for photos, enjoy the views, and watch the seals, sea lions and birds.
Free on-street parking (2, 3, or 4 hours depending on location) is available on side streets near the Museum of Contemporary Arts. There are a number of coffee shops in the area if people are interested in getting a drink or food after the walk.
