Hi Ladies - Thanks for joining this Meetup! I am excited to have you and hope to meet you in-person in the near future at one of our regularly-scheduled group events!

Purpose of Group: To connect women who self-identify as either a femme/sporty lesbian (or something along these lines) or bisexual women in their 30s, 40s, or early 50s (ie: 50-53 years old) with others who also prefer the same/similar or who simply vibe better with this subset of non-hetero women than they do with more butch counterparts.

This is the case for myself and figured it might be for some others too...I just don't know where to find them so am simply trying a new approach. I moved to San Diego in May 2020 but is still so much more that I want to learn and explore about this great city of ours!

I would like to build a community of like-minded ladies, while also further exploring the LGBTQ+ establishments & specific events in San Diego that cater more specifically to non-hetero women or those that support/contribute to San Diego's gay community in general.

My hope is for all members to make new connections & friends and to have fun, while also enjoying various activities that make this city a great place to live!

Who Should Join: Ladies in their 30s 40s, or early 50s (ie: 50-53 years old) who self-identify as either a femme/ sporty lesbian (or something within this realm) or bisexual women who have a preference for the same/similar or who simply vibe better with this subset of non-heterosexual women & who are also looking to connect with others in-person. (Note the more in-depth explanation about this that directly follows).

Intent of Group: I am a huge proponent of all LGBTQ+ rights and am an active participant in the community. The intent of this group is not to be exclusive in nature by any means.

I am a femme/sporty lesbian who generally prefers the same/similar physically and who has just always connected much better - both on a friendship and a relationship level--with other non-hetero women who are also more feminine in nature and personality. That said, this just happens to be the way I present & is also based on my own general personal preferences too, which I'm varies from one woman in this group to the next & is more than fine...

That said, this group definitely has a good number of members/ women, who arguably, do not (quote/unquote) “fit” within this specified criterion as exactly written (again, specific to myself), with which I have absolutely ZERO problem. Again, this group is meant to be inclusive in nature.

Also to note: This group has a large number of women who are just beginning to explore this side/part of their sexuality, which I, personally, think is great!  It’s a very safe space for these ladies to do so.  This means there’s a lot of variation and diversity in terms of where group members are on their specific and unique journeys in this regard as well, and I know this looks differently for each individual too.

Finally, a note about the age requirement of 30s and 40s…While I’d like to keep this as the general range, if you happen to be in your early 50s (50-53), I have no problem with this either.  Since I am now 45 & technically a little closer to 50 than I am to 40, expanding this upper age limit a little bit makes sense to me.

Events: I have a wide variety of hobbies/interests so am open to almost anything in terms of group events, and I'm also down to try just about anything I haven't yet done or to explore any place in San Diego I haven't yet been. That said, to accommodate my own schedule, almost all group events will take place over weekends.

Please check out the "Events" tab to see what group meetups have already taken place and those that are upcoming too, which will give you a better idea about the feel of the group as well. I am scheduling about one group outing per month and am aiming to have a good percentage of these that are somehow LGBTQ+ - focused or specific.

I formed this group on a complete whim one random weekday night in late August 2022 with zero expectations so have been extremely pleased with the amount of interest that has been expressed and also with the attendance at group events for a relatively new group. The women who have come out have been very welcoming, friendly, and fun!

While each event always has a good number of repeat members/ attendees, all recent events have also had a lot of new group members and/or "first-timers". So, if you have any nerves or reservations about coming out to a group event and not knowing anyone, I can 100% guarantee that you will not be alone and will actually be one of several or many.

Also, as a non-drinker - and knowing that there are several of us here - while some events will undoubtedly take place within a bar setting of some sort, I am also conscious of planning meetups that don't focus predominately on alcohol/drinking either. In case it matters to anyone, I am 420-friendly :)
