Esch Road Beach Trash Clean Up

Let's help keep plastics, trash, and debris out of our beautiful Lake Michigan water and shoreline. We have set up volunteer work day to clean at Esch Road Beach. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore NPS will supply sand sifters for cleaning up the charcoal and other marine debris, plus gloves, and shovels. The sand sifters are basically a framed window screen that you sift the sand through, maybe 2ft by 2ft. We will bring our own heavy duty trash bags. We can walk the beach and the grassy area and pick up trash and plastics.
The plan is to have a morning shift 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM and an afternoon shift from 1:30 -3.00 PM.. We can all get together for a picnic lunch break from about 12:30 - 1:30. Please let us know which shift you plan to attend or if you will stay for the day. Everyone is encouraged to join us for Lunch Time get together. Bring a picnic lunch.
We will meet in the Parking Lot at about 9:45 AM to get signed in and organize work teams. Please RSVP so we know to meet you. All participants will need to sign a liability form for both Sleeping Bear Dunes and Sierra Club. If Severe weather on Saturday, we will clean up at the beach on Sunday May 4th.
