Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoons!
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
3:00 - Quick introductions
3:15 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
4:15 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 4:30 pm. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
If we are inside, there are plenty of outlets. If we decide to go outside, there will be no outlets. As always, if you are bringing an electronic device, try to bring one that's as charged as possible.
Other Important Details:
Ava Roasteria has WiFi. It is a simple sign-in with no password.
TRAVEL / PARKING: Located in a shopping center, Ava Roasteria has plenty of free parking. Please mind the handicap and "15 minute only" spaces. If you are taking Trimet, it is located right on the 38 bus line.
SEATING INFORMATION: We will always be located inside at the beginning of meet-up. If enough people want to go outside to enjoy the beautiful patio, flowers, and water features to write, we can do that too.
GUIDELINES: Please thank our hosts by purchasing something. There are excellent cafe drinks and baked goods!
