Cinco De Mayo (Part Uno de Cinco) - Celia's by the Beach: Table for 8

Details

Celia's by the Beach
Celia and Perfecto immigrated from Jalisco to the Sunset District and never looked back. In 1960 when Celia’s first opened up shop it was half the size and served only American food. Shakes, burgers, french fries and coffee - all favorites of Perfecto, but nothing new or exciting. After being open for awhile, Celia finally mustered up the courage to serve her customers some enchiladas. They were a hit! As time progressed, more and more items were introduced to the menu as combination plates. Celia's of the outer Sunset is the first of the many Celia’s Restaurants, which are all family owned and operated independently from one another. Celia’s by the Beach is currently managed by Celia and Perfecto’s grand children. After a painstakingly slow “clean-up” that lasted all of 2011 and some of 2012 we are glad to be back open. Aside from using fresh ingredients and family recipes, our grandparents Perfecto and Celia taught us to treat our customers like family. We’ve carried on that tradition and invite you not only come in for some great eats and drinks, but to leave your worries at the door and join our familia! No worries amigos, once you eat with us you are family!
from Celia's By The Beach (Total Happy Hour)

Founded in 1960 Celia's By The Beach has been a true San Francisco Institution for Mexican Cuisine and Fun. Margaritas, and rice, beans, perfectly spiced meat.

This is the day before Cinco De Mayo, and part one of five for five events to celebrate the Independence of Mexico from Europe.

Administrative Trivia
Celia's by the Beach menu shows dinner is about $25-$40 per person, sides and appetizers add on $5-$20, Margarita's are $9-$34 excluding tax and tip. Alcoholic drinks can easily increase this average. Dress is smart casual.

Each diner is responsible for their own orders and costs but if we cannot have separate checks we will have to consolidate and divvy up the final bill accordingly. Please bring cash or have Zelle or Apple Cash available.

Taxes and Fees
Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and probably an employee health mandate (3-10%), a tip (20%) may be automatically added, even on individual bills. I calculate each diner's orders separately unless the meal is shared or family style, and round up.

Parking and Transportation
