Welcome to SF Mandarin English Toastmasters!
We meet via Zoom each week, with hybrid meetings twice a month in San Francisco in Hayes Valley. Our meeting officially starts from 7:00 pm and ends at 8:30 pm every Tuesday PT with members joining locally and from around the world. The meeting room will be open earlier at 6:45pm for people to warm up and network with a hosted discussion topic.

What to Expect
During a meeting, a Toastmaster will be the host who brings the meeting theme and manages the flow of a meeting. Each meeting has three sections: prepared speeches, table topics, and evaluations. In prepared speeches, members share a 5-7 minute speech through the Pathways educational program to work on their communication and leadership skills.
During table topics (we have both an English and Mandarin segment) everyone is welcome to participate and answer questions related to the day's theme with a 1-2 minute impromptu speech.
After table topics, a few functionaries will share their observations on how we can improve our speaking ability from the lens of grammar, language usage, time management, use of filler words, etc.

Relax, and enjoy hearing speakers from a variety of places, and backgrounds! We'll encourage you to introduce yourself when you begin, and share any input you have at the end of the meeting. If you would like to improve your Mandarin / English, build your confidence, and be part of a community of people all striving to improve themselves, there will be a lot of opportunities for you!

Our meetings are open to the general public, and we welcome you to come check us out! To give prepared speeches and evaluations, you will need to register as a member of the club. You will benefit from getting personalized feedback on your speeches, taking on leadership roles each week, and hearing inputs from a global community.
