Hard: South Glen Shiel Ridge

Details

The famous South Glen Shiel ridge, a marvellous but long and strenuous walk. For fit and experienced walkers only.

There is steep ground and no easy routes off the ridge between the munros.

We will have to walk at a decent rate, with breaks, to complete the ridge. Not a walk if you are struggling to get to full fitness.
The 7 munros are Creag a'Mhaim, Druim Shionnach, Aonach Air Chrith, Maol Chinn-Dearg, Sgurr an Doire Leathain, Sgurr an Lochain and Creag nan Damh. Great views on a clear day to kintail/north ridge, Loch quoich munros.

We will follow the walk highlands route, full description; South Glen Shiel Ridge: 7 Munros (Walkhighlands)

Planning to walk east to west, depending on the forecasted wind direction. Will update comments a few days etc before the walk.

Meeting point is a layby on the A87; https://maps.app.goo.gl/7d5d4xZrr45qjfyH6 (There is another large layby nearby if needed). We can then take the minimum number of cars to the walk start point- a layby down the single track road just east of the Cluanie Inn.

Weather dependent. For any queries on the day 07901 987769.
