This group is for anyone interested in enjoying the great outdoors by hiking, camping, cycling, kayaking, participating in community events such as park/river cleanups or tree maintenance projects, or just having a picnic in the park. I am looking forward to meeting some local folks who share my love of the outdoors.

See all- George L Smith State Park Camp and KayakNeeds location
George L. Smith State Park, Georgia, is best known for the refurbished Parrish Mill and Pond, and dam built in 1880. On the water you will see serene cypress and tupelo trees, with possible sightings of beaver, blue heron, ibis, and other wading birds. There are also hiking trails to explore, and lots of photo opportunities.
We will organize a couple of group paddles on this weekend -Times TBA (Trips are for experienced paddlers only please, and PFD's are required)
There are good campgrounds at George L Smith State park, but not that many so it helps to book early. If possible, pick a campsite close to ours #22. Each campsite can support two tents/two cars, so you can share with another camper. There are bathrooms and showers in the campgrounds. Please bring your own food, kayak and camping equipment.
The park is closed for much of February but it will be open in April when we go. For more information and to make a reservation click HERE
