Beginner Ballroom/Swing/Latin dance lessons at The Dance Space for $5 each!

$5/person - Lesson Only Sunday, 6-7pm
Walk-in, no reservation required

$10/person - Lesson & Ballroom Dance Combo Sunday, 6-9pm
Walk-in, no reservation required

Dance partners and prior dance experience are NOT REQUIRED for this class. This is NOT a series, start/stop anytime. Singles, couples and same-sex couples are welcome!

The class is held every Sunday night at 6pm. This sequence is designed to teach the twelve basic Ballroom/Latin/Swing dances that you will need for attending "Ballroom" events in the Central Virginia area. The class covers a different dance each week. It teaches skills that will make you and your dance partner shine on any dance floor in Richmond!

A class for new-WCS-dancers.

Every Monday from April 14th to May 5th
Class: West Coast Swing Beginner Plus 7-8:30 pm
Instructor: Mike Recant
Cost: $15/person per class

Join us on Monday evenings in April/May for a special WCS series class. The class will start from scratch with teaching basic beginner skills and will progress through four sessions to cover WCS technique and the core pushes, passes and whips. This is a repeat of the Beginner Plus Series from last Spring and Fall at The Dance Space. The material to be included:

WCS Technique:
Dance frame (connection, lead&follow)
Slot
Timing
Foot technique
Starter Step

WCS Patterns:
Sugar Push (Push Break)
Left Side Pass
Right Side Pass (underarm turn)
Sugar Tuck
Passing Tuck
Right Spinning Side Pass
Right Torque Turn
Basket Whip
Whip (three endings)

The class assumes no prior knowledge of West Coast Swing. It is perfect for dancers who have always wanted to try this dance.
