What we’re about

This group is about learning tools that can help you cope with anxiety, fear and depression. This group has different meetings each day or night in different locations across the Cleveland area. It was founded in 1937 by Chicago Neuropsychiatrist Dr. Abraham Low. It offers hundreds of tools to deal with everyday life occurrences. The stress of things that seem small, like trivialities, can add up. Tasks that can seem easy to do when life is going well can seem insurmountable once stress starts to grow. In RI participants learn a four -part method to develop skills to better manage our internal environment-what we have control over. When we learn how to manage our emotions and physical symptoms, we can gain greater control over how we relate to others and the world. The four-step method helps people manage their thoughts, impulses, and symptoms. Repeated use of the system becomes a habit, allowing people to take a clear and effective approach to managing daily stressors. There are four types of meetings offered: Zoom, multiple meeting offered seven days a week; In person--offered in a variety of locations across the Cleveland area; Phone--join a meeting that is a conference-style via your phone; Chat--live chat with a Leader. participants are encouraged to begin by going to Newcomer Meetings, held online via Zoom, to learn the basic RI method. Then check the Meetings page of the RI website to learn about the scheduled meetings and their locations. There is no cost to join or attend a meeting, although members can give voluntary donations, if they like.
