Christchurch Harbour Walk

This easy coastal walk takes in the Saxon town of Christchurch, the harbour walk, Hengistbury Head, two ferry rides and Mudeford beaches. We first explore the ancient harbour town of Christchurch, its Norman Castle and Priory and the Art Deco cinema and hall and the quay. We then take the Wick ferry to the meadows and sand dunes of Hengistbury Head. Great views across to the Isle of Wight and entire coastline from St Catherines Hill. Lunch at the beaches, with lots of cafes and the most exclusive beach huts in England. We then take the ferry to Mudeford Quay and walk east along the sandy beaches to Mudeford town for bus back to start.

Travel - Trains to Christchurch from Waterloo, stops at Clapham Junction. Special deals at present for travel via single tickets with railcard. Suggested trains are 10:05 from Waterloo and 18:30 from Christchurch. Free parking near start.

11:55am prompt outside Christchurch Station, postcode BH23 1PLA £4 meet up fee on the day. A good knowledge of English history is required for event.
