Festival of 40s at the Bluebell Railway

Details
Day out in lovely countryside of West Sussex. Today is the 1940s festival on the Bluebell preserved steam railway. As its the 80th anniversary of D Day the line has arranged a concert party (Gloria & Lofty taking part), 1940s jive bands, flypast by Battle of Britain memorial fleet and lots of vintage stalls.
The Bluebell festival has military re-enactors and live music at all four preserved stations. Great display of 1940s vehicles including a very rare Afrika Corps motorcycle and side car. We can visit the Spitfire on display and take in the Home Guard (Pike with his scarf) and the singing and dancing performances.
Each station is perfectly preserved in era (late Victorian,1920s, 1950s)
Today there are several steam locomotives on service with period carriages.
We have a chance to see the Beachy Head, a new build steam locomotive just completed by the Bluebell.
