What we’re about
This is a group for anyone interested in the Python programming language. Join us to learn, share and network!
We hold regular in-person meetings in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Some meetings support online participation, so you can choose to RSVP either "Online" or "In person". Such "hybrid" events will also be listed in our group "Python New Zealand - Online Events". If you plan on attending meetings online, consider also joining that group for all our online events and hybrid events held in other cities.

Python Developer Productivity: Tools and tricks for getting stuff done
Join our monthly meetup about all things Python at Trade Me's office at 181 High Street. Doors open at 5:30pm, with the talk starting at 6:30pm. Trade Me is generously providing food and drinks.
Look for a glass door with a sign mentioning the meetup and head upstairs to the Trade Me office. Call the phone number on the sign if you arrive late and the door is closed.
The meetup will also be accessible virtually. Point your web browser at https://bbb2.nzoss.nz/b/men-pg1-cot-ai2 to access the session using Big Blue Button.
What tools and tricks do you use to be a productive and efficient (Python) developer? This will be an interactive show-and-tell session. Menno will start things off by showing some tools and configurations he relies in when working on the command line and in various editors and IDEs. Then it's over to other attendees to show some things they use.
Are you VS Code pro, Neovim ninja, Emacs wizard or agentic ace? What techniques do you use to create and debug Python programs? Do you know some Git tricks that no-one else seems to use? Please bring your laptop to demo your personal development workflow if you can.
There will be some laptops available if you don't have one handy and want to show something.Don't hesitate to pass this information around to whomever you think may be interested to hear and discuss all things Python.
