What we’re about
Single Parents Winnipeg (formerly Parents Without Partners Winnipeg) Meet up Group is an active community of single parents who have common interests, concerns, and challenges raising wonderful kids on our own. We spend quality time in low-pressure, low-drama, fun and interesting group events, often forming lasting friendships. We get together both for family events as well as adult only events. Some of the types of events we host are dining out or at a member’s home, movies, museums, travel, socials, conversations, sports, camping, beach days and much more. We strive to be a fun, supportive, and friendly community of great single parents connecting with one another and families through events, activities and adventures.
We provide you with the opportunity to join with other people who have worked through or are going through some of the same challenges you are facing. You can gain a new perspective on yourself as you discover you are not alone. Each of us understand what you are going through. We understand that the problems are many in bringing up our children alone, contending with the emotional conflicts of divorce, never-married, separation or widowhood. Lets stop trying to do this along and come together through Single Parents Winnipeg (formerly Parents Without Partners Winnipeg)
If you are a single parent through separation, divorce, widowhood or were never in a committed relationship you are welcome to join our group. If you a single parent who is in a relationship you are welcome to join our group. If you were a single parent and are now in a fully committed relationship or are remarried your family is welcome to join the group. If you are a single parent who is expecting your child or your child is grown up and on their own you are welcome to join our group. If you have 100% custody or 0% custody you are welcome to join our group. It is a place where new friendships begin!!!
You do not need to live an isolate life just because you are a single parent. There is no need to be lonely or not have anyone understand what you are going through. We want to help single parent families thrive!
So what is stopping you?
We are not a “singles” or “dating” group. We do not discourage dating in our group, but our purpose is to connect as a friendly community of parents and families.
There is no fee to join Winnipeg Single Parent Meetup however due to the fees associated with running the group and offering some of the events there will be a small donation of $2-$3 requested collected at some of the events – this information will be shared on the individual event description itself.
If there is an event you want to see on the calendar or want to host please use the suggestion area to do so or send the organizer an email with the details the calendar can only be as full as the members help make it be.
