Which language is the best? This is an eternal question that has no clear answer. The speakers of this Meetup will try to convince you why their language is the right one and why you should use it.

Talk 1: Kotlin in everyday use
Speaker: Matěj Plch, Senior Software Engineer at Productboard
Description: Compare Kotlin advantages against Java on examples we use in Productboard on daily basis. Kotlin is a clear winner. Although Java improved a lot, it's still only trying to catch Kotlin.

Talk 2: Forget/Ignore Kotlin, use Java 19!
Speaker: Jaroslav Tulach, Founder and Initial Architect at NetBeans ; GraalVM engineer; Compiler engineer at Enso.org
Description: The Java platform experiences an outburst of cool new features – new features added to the Java language include multi-line string literals, simple data carriers, and pattern matching. While Kotlin is a nice language, maybe you want to stick with standard Java 19 syntax and compile it into JDk8+. I’ll show you how!

Talk 3: Transition from Java to Kotlin
Speaker: Lukáš Vyhlídka, Senior Software Engineer at Productboard
Description: Are you a Java developer and thinking about bringing Kotlin into your life? Does the transition hurt or is it just seamless? Let's talk about such an experience when turning Spring-based development from Java to Kotlin.
